CONTROL YOUR WARN AXON WINCH WITH YOUR OWN SMART DEVICE The HUB Wireless Receiver lets you operate your WARN AXON winch using your smart device. Included with AXON 55 and 45 winches, the IP68 waterproof HUB Receiver plugs into the winch, then, using our free custom-developed app for either iOS or Android, reliably communicates with the receiver via Bluetooth. Your smart device will operate the winch from up to 100’ away and monitor your vehicle’s battery voltage, let you observe the winch’s load, and see the winch’s motor temperature—you’ll know exactly what’s going on during a recovery. AXON winch controls feature a color- changing LED that provides user feedback during the winching process. A blue LED indicates the system is on and ready to pull. As the winching process begins and the load increases, the LED will change color. A green light will indicate a light load, and as the winch works harder, the LED will go to yellow, orange, then red under the heaviest loads. If the winch becomes too hot or reaches a capacity that may overload the unit, the LED will blink red and the winch will shut down until it’s cooled down or the load is released. These features keep the user informed and help extend the winch’s service life.

STEEL VS. SYNTHETIC WINCH ROPE. WARN AXON and VRX winches are available with either steel rope or synthetic rope. But which one is right for you? Let’s look at some of the features and benefits of both. Steel rope is extremely durable, abrasion resistant, and is good for utility applications where the line may contact objects like stumps, rocks, and other things that rub against the rope. Of course it’s still a good choice for vehicle recovery, and has been used for decades by enthusiasts and workers alike. However, steel rope is heavier and less flexible than synthetic line. Steel rope is less expensive than synthetic rope.

Synthetic rope is strong, lightweight, easy to handle, and it’ll even float on water making it great for vehicle recovery. Synthetic rope is more prone to damage by abrasion, and requires the use of the included abrasion sleeve when the rope comes into contact with an object. Additionally, synthetic rope should be inspected regularly for ultraviolet (UV) wear and is more expensive than steel rope. However, it’s a great choice for those who are looking to keep weight down, push the limits with their vehicle, and use the winch frequently.
